GPFCCU Presents 8 Motorbikes To Member Institutions

8 brand new motorcycles were presented to security institutions under the Ministry of Interior, courtesy of the Gambia Police Force Cooperative Credit Union (GPFCCU).

The presentation, done at the Police Headquarters in Banjul was presided by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, witnessed by representatives of beneficiary institutions, including the DG, Immigration, DG, Prisons, Chief Fire Officer, SIS and Ministry of Interior respectively.

Speaking during the presentation, Chief Superintendent, Pa Singhateh, General Manager of GPFCCU said the bikes in total cost over D300,000 and was just a way of giving back to their parent institutions. ” We are delighted to hand over this token to the various security agencies under the the Interior Ministry, this to fulfil our responsibility in ploughing back to our members. I’m proud to say that if it wasn’t for these institutions, there would have not been the GPFCCU. We hope that the support will go a long way towards the ease of transportation in the various units”.

Receiving the Motorbikes on behalf of the IGP, Momodou Sowe, Deputy Inspector General of Police underscored the importance of the Credit Union in the lives of members, including himself. He noted with pride that the cooperation between the GPFCCU and the GPF will continue to grow from strength to strength, citing the fact that the Police Credit Union is now the 2nd biggest union in the Gambia.

DIG Sowe thanked the donors and assured them that the bikes will be put in good use. Other speakers include; Commissioner Admin, Samba Jawo and Chief Superitendant, Fofana of the GID.
